Pour la séquence d’ouverture, soit le rêve de Simon, nous avons recruté des enfants devant représenter les enfants du monde. Nous sommes allés à l’école Moncada de Santiago de Cuba pour les sélectionner. Vingt ans plus tard, j’ai reçu des mails de l’un d’eux qui venait de s’établir aux USA. Ce fut une belle surprise d’avoir des nouvelles de lui et de savoir ce qu’il était devenu, ainsi que d’autres des enfants de la Moncada. Voici des extraits de ses mails...
Hello Mr. Roger Cantin, I am one of the child who participated in the film "Simon les nuages". I'm living in U.S since the last two months. I was so happy when I found, thanks to internet of course, what had happened with the film. I never imagine it was released. As you know twenty years ago and living in Cuba it isn't easy to know happening in the rest of the world but I never forget the experience and kept in my mind that special moment. I remember being in elementary school when we passed the casting and that I was picked to play a child from Indonesia. It was very exiting !!! I'm sure none of my friends who participated know the film obtained awards. 20 years later I really would like to see the film but I can't find it. I tried to download from many website but could not find it. I appreciate if you could help me to get it and I will try to show all my friend the end of that beautiful history. Sorry for my English I'm beginning to speak it, a bit, and sincerely it's so hard for me...

I was surprise when I saw the picture and how I looked when I was 8 years old. It's very funny. My hair was so long. I am the first boy on the left beside the man I think he was a teacher... (En fait c’est Figueroa, le chef électricien / The man is Figueroa from the cuban shooting team)... I’m still in contact with at least 5 boys and girls, two of them are in Cuba, one in Costa Rica, another girl is a doctor as me and all of them will be happy receiving this picture. Thanks again for your effort and when I get the dvd I will inform you...
... Hi Mr cantin, I already received the film. I feel so happy. I could see myself just for little seconds but it was enough to be exited. I saw the film and it is really amazing!!! it's one of the first where dinosaurs appears I think so, and obviously you are pioneer using that technology. Thanks for everything ,I'll try to send it to all my friends and my family in Cuba... Bye bye and I hope some day I’ll know you personally .
